FELA KUTI EXHIBITION IN LAGOS
News reaching me is that there will be a major exhibition celebrating Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti has opened in Lagos. It features 400 items including personal memorabilia, photos, paintings and videos.

NOLLYWOOD SHIFT TO YOUTUBE
A recent romcom "Love in Every Word" directed by Omoni Oboli, went viral reaching over 5 million views in 3 days on YouTube.  
The move to YouTube gives filmmakers more creative freedom and direct engagement with audiences but raises concerns about piracy and long-term financial sustainability.

HELEN MIRREN TO RECEIVE CECIL B. DEMILLE AWARD
Dame Helen Mirren will be honored with the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes for her lifetime contribution to entertainment.  
This comes nearly 20 years after her Oscar win.

SABRINA CARPENTER IN ALICE IN WONDERLAND-INSPIRED MUSICAL
Sabrina Carpenter will star in and produce a musical film inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

MICHAEL JACKSON BIOPIC COMING IN 2026
Michael, a biographical musical drama directed by Antoine Fuqua, follows Michael Jackson’s rise from the Jackson 5 to his global stardom. Jaafar Jackson (Michael’s nephew) will star in the lead.
