LOOMING DISASTER: TAIWAN VOTES IN A DEMOCRATIC LEADER!

China's claim over Taiwan is not new(The one china: one system policy). It seems the island of Taiwan as part of its territory and Xi-Jinping has made the unification of Asia a yearning goal for decades: and has led to Taiwan experiencing several arrays of threats over the years.

Interestingly, on 13th of January, 2024, millions of Taiwanese headed to the polls to cast their vote despite China's renewed warnings and threats, the people of Taiwan voted in William Lai Ching-Te; a democratic leader that China is vehemently against.

An intriguing yet disturbing question pops up. This unlimited array of questions determine the fate of Taiwan amidst the formidable forces of China and its hegemonic agenda. Let's look into some controversial questions surrounding this outcome and its implication of power in the context of international politics.

Firstly, what is the geo-strategic importance of this election to the world and particularly the United States and its agenda in Asia.

Secondly, how is china receiving this new trend

Thirdly, Beijing's reaction shows discomfort. Should Taiwan expect retaliation from China?

Lastly, will this outcome spur a graveous regional conflict in East Asia, or maybe in the whole of Asia?

TAIWAN ELECTION: CHINA SAYS U.S. 'gravely wrong' TO CONGRATULATES NEW LEADER.

Unsurprisingly, after U.S. secretary of states Anthony Blinken sent Taiwanese president-elect William Lai a message of congratulations following the result, Beijing called the message a violation of Washington's commitment to maintain only unofficial ties with Taiwan.

Beijing(China) sees Taiwan as its territory and fiercely challenges any government that says otherwise undisputedly. The outcome of this election shall challenge the hegemonic imbalance in Asia's continent.

It is definitely a substance of celebration as this newly elected government in Taiwan is pro-democratic and shall promote the western values of liberalism... Shall the People's Republic of China (PRC) accept these new dimensions and trends in her supposedly island, without altercation? The international arena watches how events shall unfold in the Eastern part of Asia in forthcoming weeks, months or even years.

One thing is certain, China is threatened and the U.S. shall use this outcome to its very interests and objectives.
