  Over in motorsports, heavy rain threatened to cause massive chaos at the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, while world champion Max Verstappen threatened to quit the sport by 2027 if car rules do not change.

   In international trade, the European Union finalized a major new economic agreement with Mexico. This deal is designed to strengthen European business ties across Latin America. Meanwhile, tragedy struck China's energy sector when a massive explosion at a coal mine killed at least 82 workers, prompting national emergency rescue actions
