Fela: The Voice of the Streets
A fearless man who stood so strong.
With saxophone and beating drum,
He made the voice of Africa come.
He sang for those without a name,
Against corruption, greed, and shame.
His music thundered through the night,
Calling the poor to rise and fight.
From Lagos streets his message spread,
Truth and freedom in every thread.
Afrobeat danced within his veins,
Like pouring fire through heavy chains.
The rulers feared his fearless sound,
For every word shook sacred ground.
Yet Fela stood, both bold and free,
A rebel for humanity.
His shrine became a place of light,
Where minds awoke to truth and right.
Though storms arose and pain was near,
He never bowed his head to fear.
O Fela, spirit of the brave,
Your music lives beyond the grave.
In every drum, in every cry,
Your voice still rises to the sky.
Nigeria remembers still,
The man whose songs could shake a hill.
A patriot with heart of flame,
And history shall praise your name.
