Diplomat of the Week 🌏

 Good day, dearest gentle readers💥, Today I am here,  bringing your way,  the diplomat of the week, Wahab Adekola Akande🌏

Wahab Adekola Akande was born in Lagos, Nigeria, he pursued a degree in French from the department of European studies, in the University of Ibadan.  Ambassador Akande's career in the Nigerian Foreign Service commenced in January 1993.

 Over the years, he has served in various capacities, including postings in Lome, Togo; Yaoundé, Cameroon; and Brussels, Belgium. Notably, he served as a French Language Interpreter and Protocol Officer at the State House, working under Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, and Goodluck Jonathan.  

In recognition of his dedicated service, he was appointed as an Ambassador-in-situ on December 18, 2020, and subsequently as the Consul General at the Consulate General of Nigeria in Frankfurt, Germany, on January 11, 2021. During his tenure in Frankfurt, he was very diligent in handling consular operations and fostering cultural diplomacy, including organizing the first-ever Nigeria Cultural Carnival in Frankfurt.  

Ambassador Akande's commitment to diplomacy and cultural engagement has earned him recognition both within and outside Nigeria. On April 27, 2024, the Nigerian community in Frankfurt held a farewell event in his honor, celebrating his contributions to people empowerment and cultural diplomacy . He serves as a role model for youths that aspire to be ambassadors.
