A Culinary Trip to Tanzaniađź’•


      The best way to travel the world without visa is by exploring the culinary tradition of the  proposed country.
 As a result, we are traveling to Tanzania where the famous mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's tallest mountain) is located.
One of the most popular dishes in Tanzania is the "UGALI". 
       Ugali is a staple food made from maize flour and water, similar to a stiff porridge. It is usually eaten with meat, fish, vegetables or beans. Ugali is one of the easiest and most common Tanzanian staples. It’s made with just two ingredients and pairs well with stews, vegetables, or grilled meat.
To make the famous Tanzanian dish, you'll need
. 2 cups of maize flour (cornmeal)
. 4 cups water
. A pinch of salt (Optional)

 In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.bAdd a pinch of salt if you want. Add Maize flour gradually 
and reduce the heat to medium-low. Slowly pour in the maize flour while stirring continuously with a wooden spoon (called mwiko in Swahili). Keep stirring to prevent lumps.Stir and Cook.
       Once all the flour is added and mixed, keep stirring and turning the dough-like mixture for about 5–10 minutes. The ugali should pull away from the sides of the pot and form a firm, smooth mass.
       To serve: Scoop the ugali onto a plate or serving bowl. Shape it into a mound using the spoon or wet your hands (be careful—it’s hot!) and form it into a ball.
      Serve with Mchuzi wa Samaki, Sukuma Wiki (collard greens), beef stew, or beans. Enjoy.
Now not only have you learnt a new dish, you've also traveled through Africa to Tanzania only with your taste buds.
