The Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has dismissed Dr. Adebayo Mosobalaje, a lecturer at the Department of English Language in the Faculty of Art, who was allegedly found guilty of sexual demeanor against a female student. This was announced in a statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, titled, ‘Sexual harassment: OAU dismisses another lecturer’, on Tuesday. But when contacted for comment, Mosobolaje neither picked his telephone calls nor responded to a text message sent to him. Sunday evening saw the Candle light procession for one of OAU’s bright minds, Queen Ananwureyi Ohine Joy who sadly passed away on August 14 2021. She was a graduate of the Faculty of Law, OAU and was a member of the Association of Campus Journalists ( ACJ) while on campus. The International Relations Students Association hosted a mountaineering event for it's Freshmen on 7th August, 2021. The IRSA President and other Executive members were present, same as  MC Talk Talk, Hype man Jordan and others who were present to spice things up, a DSNA reporter was there to cover the event. The procession converged at Anglomoz where they took off at around 7:50am passing through Architecture department down to First Bank Lecture theater and towards the school zoo entrance when rain disrupted the movement. The downpour became heavier just after the group passed the Faculty of Agriculture so they had to find shelter from the natural element.
