INEC announces date for 2023 elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the date for the 2023 general elections in the country. INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement on Wednesday during a one-day public hearing on the National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill 2021, organized by the Senate Committee on INEC. According to the INEC boss, the 2023 general elections are exactly one year, nine months, two weeks and six days or 660 days from today. “By the principle established by the Commission, the 2023 General Election will hold on Saturday 18th February 2023 which is exactly one year, nine months, two weeks and six days or 660 days from today,” he said. “We hope to release the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the General Election immediately after the Anambra Governorship election scheduled to hold on 6th November 2021. “In order to do so, there should be clarity and certainty about the electoral legal framework to govern the election. OAU Extends 2019/20 Harmattan Semester By 2weeks

   The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State has extended the 2019/2020 Harmattan semester by 2 weeks. This move by the school management means that the examination exercise scheduled to start on 26th of this month will be postponed and a new date will be communicated soon. According to our findings,  the extension of the academic calendar was finalized after the university held a critical senate meeting on Friday, 17th April,2021. OAU Plans To Reinstate Student's Union

 Undoubtedly, there have been several sessions without the existence of the Students Union Body In OAU,as we all know that Students Union in every school is exceptional important to the growth, survival and welfarism of the students,the students Union has always been in the fore-fronts of decision making when it comes to the students,but for while in OAU it has been scraped off, which has led to a recent plan by the National Association Of Nigeria Students ( NANS) Zone D (South West) to stage a protest in view of their collective aim of re activating the students Union in Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile - Ife.  In Respect to this, a fresh newsletter was publicised today 12th April,2021 announcing the University Senate considering the earlier proposal of resuscitation the Students Union at a virtual meeting she earlier  had in January,2021 ,this news letter was signed by the Dean Of Students Affairs,Prof I.O Aransi.
